Steven E. Clyde is a Director at Clyde Snow. He received his juris doctor (J.D.) from the University of Utah College of Law. In addition to the state of Utah, he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court and the Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit . He also has practiced extensively before the State Engineer and in appellate reviews of State Engineer administrative decisions. His primary areas of practice include:

As one of the leading water rights attorneys in Utah, Mr. Clyde, has over 30 years experience in all aspects of water law, including, administrative hearings before the State Engineer, appellate review of the State Engineer's determination; transactional work, buying, selling, and converting water rights; and review of water rights titles. Mr. Clyde also has extensive experience with Reclamation Law. Mr. Clyde also has a broad experience in real estate, oil & gas, local government law and the Clean Water Act.

In addition to his work experience, Mr. Clyde has taught water law at the University of Utah's S.J. Quinney College of Law (2001-2004). He is also a frequent presenter at CLE conferences and seminars involving water law and related topics. He has spoken at the CLE International's annual Utah Water Law conference for the past 12 years on a variety of water law topics, including Urban Encroachment on Traditional Water Users; Impacts of the Endangered Species Act on Water Development; the Central Utah Project; Ground Water Management, and Water Conservation. In addition, he has been a certified lecturer for the Utah Board of Realtors.

Mr. Clyde has contributed articles to several legal publications, including the South Dakota Law Review, Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation (RMMLF), and the Natural REsources section of the  American Bar Association (ABA) magazine. In addition, he is also a contributing editor, Western Water Law and Policy Reporter, Argent Communications Group (1996-Present), and contributing editor, Water and Water Rights, Lexis Law Publications (2002-Present). Mr. Clyde's most recent publication is a law review article, "Market Reallocation in the Colorado River Basin: Better Utilization of the West's Scarce Water Resources," 28 J. Land, Res, & Envt'l Law, 49 (2008).

Steven Clyde is also a former chairman and current Board of Land Trust Trustees member of the Utah Open Lands Conservation Association, a state wide trust (1995-Present), and a founding member of the Utah Water Conservation Forum. In addition, he is the co-owner-operator of the Diamond Bar X Ranch in Woodland, Utah. He also enjoys skiing, tennis, equestrian, as well as road and mountain biking.
