Rod Snow, Clyde Snow President and Utah State Bar Commissioner, was voted President-elect of the Utah State Bar April 16, garnering 92 percent of the vote and continuing Clyde Snow's tradition of industry leadership and commitment.

"I am honored to be elected to this position and I look forward to seeking new opportunities to further the bar's proud tradition of service to lawyers and the community," Snow said.

Snow's one-year term as President-elect of the bar will begin July 2010 after he is sworn in at the Utah State Bar Annual Summer Convention in Sun Valley, Idaho, along with three newly elected commission members: Felshaw King (2nd Division), John Lund (3rd Division), and Su Chon (3rd Division). Snow will become President of the bar for the next year, filling Robert L. Jeffs' liaison position.

Snow ran uncontested on a platform that emphasized the need for continued lawyer training and mentoring and the necessity of giving back to the bar and the community. In addressing these goals, Snow said he intends to increase accountability, professionalism, participation in pro bono work, and dispute resolution projects.

Although the election is open annually to the bar's more than 10,000 members, this year marked a first for electronic balloting and a second for uncontested candidates since the bar instituted public elections in 2001. Only Nate Alder, elected in 2007, had been uncontested for President-elect prior to 2010.

Snow previously served a five-year term as a bar commissioner and is among many of the Clyde Snow attorneys who are in industry leadership positions. For more information, please view the attorney profiles on www.clydesnow.com.
