SALT LAKE CITY— Clyde Snow & Sessions welcomes Brent R. Baker, prominent securities and corporate compliance attorney, and D. Loren Washburn, former deputy chief of white collar crime at the U.S. Attorney’s Office (District of Utah), to the firm’s strong Government Investigations and White Collar Defense Group.

Mr. Baker joined Clyde Snow after serving as in-house counsel for a NASDAQ listed public company and a shareholder at two major law firms. Mr. Washburn joined the firm after eight years of service in the U.S. Department of Justice. Both attorneys add their expertise to that of Utah State Bar President and Clyde Snow President Rod Snow, Neil Kaplan, Jennifer James, Anneli Smith, Loren Washburn, Katherine Judd, and Sarah Campbell as a member of Clyde Snow's white collar defense team.

“We’re honored to welcome Brent and Loren to Clyde Snow,” Clyde Snow President Rodney G. Snow said. “It was a natural choice to bring them on. They both add another level of expertise that will be invaluable as we continue to grow our white collar defense practice and provide clients with resources to tackle the toughest cases.”

Mr. Baker brings a strong background in defending corporate and individual clients in regulatory enforcement investigations and litigation before the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ); the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he served as special counsel for more than 10 years; the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), and other federal and state agencies. Outside of professional practice, Mr. Baker is a strong catalyst in the community for educating the public about how to avoid common scams and frauds. He founded Fraud College, a highly successful event that took place at UVU early this year. In its second year, Fraud College will occur at the U of U January 25, 2012. For more information, visit www.fraudcollege.org.

He most recently served as assistant U.S. attorney and deputy chief of white collar crime in the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Utah.
