Clyde Snow Attorney Offers Divorce Courses to Help Individuals Attain a Lasting, Cooperative, and more Positive Outcome
SALT LAKE CITY— Clyde Snow & Sessions Attorney Diana L. Telfer will launch a series of new community courses January 17, 2012 tackling issues arising from divorce by addressing legal, financial, emotional, and spiritual perspectives in a collaborative and empowering approach.
"Divorce can be an overwhelming experience," Telfer said. "It can be either destructive in nature or an opportunity to discover oneself and embrace life's unlimited possibilities. The main purpose of the course is to provide power through knowledge. The more information people have in knowing what they should be thinking about in a divorce, the easier the divorce will be."
The courses will prepare and educate students about the divorce process and offer basic strategies to resolve critical concerns including custody, parent-time, child support, debt distribution, property distribution, alimony, and career adjustments.
"This course will raise awareness of this alternative option in litigating a divorce including mediation and collaborative divorce," Telfer said. "There is more than one way to go through a divorce. The methods taught in my course provide the tools and the knowledge to have a more positive and productive divorce."
Telfer's course will be broken down into two, brief class meetings. From the first course, participants will gain knowledge of legal concerns as well as financial and emotional effects. The second course will then address expectations and outcomes throughout the process and after the divorce is final.
Courses will be offered through the community education departments of the Granite School District, Canyon School District and the Salt lake City School District on specific dates January through April from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.:
January 17 & 24 - Butler Middle School
January 31 & February 7 - Eastmont Middle School
February 21 & 23 - Skyline High School
March 6 & 13 - CTEC
April 11 & 18 - West Community Learning Center
